So, I am not allowed to compare or talk about other products on eBay - I have to stay on topic. That being said, this thing is almost as good as one very popular $3,200 thermal monocular I use to sell a few years back. I say "almost as good" only because you can't record with this device. If you can live without recording, this is by far the best budget friendly thermal you can currently find on the market!
The first thing I like is it is small and lightweight. The other $3,200 product was heavy and bulky, and you could not mount it to a helmet. This item you can mount to a helmet, or you can choose to use it as a handheld monocular. It is so small, you can fit it into your coat pocket!
Second thing is the clarity. The detail is amazing - way better when using it in person vs. the video footage I posted. The device has an OLED screen, which is a step up from LCD screens... Way better quality. OLED screens have a better HDR, or High Dynamic Range meaning the contrast between black and white is greater than LCD screens. The digital zoom is also very nice, but I prefer the wide view, 1x zoom default mode.
I could go on, but I am just trying to stick to the best points...
The thing I absolutely love the most about this product is the fact that this thing saved my best friend - my cat. Yes, my cat ran out the front door not too long ago. I chased him here and there with my tiny flashlight, and finally he was 300 yards north of my house, hiding in the thick brush of the woods. He had never run that far before. I was almost certain he was gone.
I ran home, grabbed my BTI-10, and ran back just to the outside of the woods.
There's a huge clearing before you get into the woods. I was in the clearing, turned on my thermal, and without zooming in I was able to instantly locate my cat probably 100 - 120 yards from where I was standing! It was cold outside, so he literally lit up like a Christmas tree!
Not only did this thing save my cat's life, but it saved me from a lot of grief!
